Summer is right around the corner and the Lowcountry is ready to celebrate with longer days, warmer temps, and delicious food. Read on for a list of food-centric festivities to enjoy with family and friends this summer!
Starting May 30th the Wreck of the Salty Dog (just down the street from the iconic Salty Dog Café and featuring the same menu) is hosting family friendly dueling piano nights from 5-8pm on Mondays. Grab your people and head down to the water for some lowcountry crab dip, seafood pot pie, and a hearty scoop of house-made ice cream. Soak in the summer night as you listen to the talented dueling pianists, enjoy amazing food, and create sweet memories.

Hosted at Burnt Church Distillery, Bluffton Night Bazaar provides an opportunity to escape the heat and have some fun after dark. Start your evening with a drink from the distillery, then meander through the tents of artisan crafts, flowers, home goods, jewelry, and food. You’re sure to find a local vendor who’s created something too good to pass up, and you never know what you’ll discover. The market is free to attend, and takes place from 5-8pm on the first Thursday of each month through July.
Head to Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park in Hilton Head from 11am-3pm on June 18th to celebrate Juneteenth with art, food and music! Tickets are $20 per adult and $5 for children 12 and under. Explore local vendors of art, crafts and food, and learn more about the celebration of this historic day.

Known for their incredible weekend brunch and upbeat atmosphere, Nectar is taking it to the next level this summer with Bluesy Brunch at their Hilton Head and Bluffton locations every weekend in June. Grab coffee and a biscuit and catch some music on Saturday in Bluffton, and Sunday in Hilton Head from 10am-1pm. There is no better way to get your morning started than having a seat on their outdoor patio and sipping a mimosa to the sound of blues music.

Take a stroll through Bluffton Farmers Market every Thursday from 12-5pm this summer at Martin Family Park. With everything from baked goods and BBQ to florals and farm fresh produce, there is truly something for everyone, and you can feel good about supporting local, quality vendors from the Bluffton community. Grab a coffee from the roasters and stock up on fresh goods for your week.
Feast on local shrimp and seafood at the annual May River Shrimp Festival on July 14-15 from 5:30-9:30pm. This event features local seafood, Bluffton-area food trucks and restaurants, live music, a craft beer garden, an arts & craft village, shrimp boat tours, and more. Tickets cost $10 per head each night.
Be guided through the flavors of Tiki as well as the background and concepts of mixology and cocktail making! Bring a friend or significant other and learn fundamental techniques at this two-hour hands-on class hosted at Hilton Head Distillery. You’ll be creating and enjoying cocktails based on popular Tiki flavors, and learning how to make them at your own personal bar at home.
