The Bluffton Farmers Market originated as a small grassroots movement in 2006, but soon established its first location at the Bluffton Oyster Company Park along the May River in 2008. Residents and tourists simply couldn’t get enough of the market, which was hosted by local merchants, business owners, and entrepreneurs. In fact, it wasn’t long until the market relocated to its current location in Historic Bluffton, between DuBois Park and the Heyward House Museum and Welcome Center.
Today, it is said that the Bluffton Farmers Market is one of the most successful of its kind in the Lowcountry. Its unique selection of vendors, food trucks, and entertainment continues to draw in more patrons each year–and with something different to discover every Thursday, it’s no wonder that this is a popular spot for guests and residents.
With that said, here are five vendors you should be on the lookout for the next time you visit the Bluffton Farmers Market!
If you need a quick caffeine boost or simply something to keep you warm during the Lowcountry’s chilly winter afternoons, look no further than the All About That Bean mobile tea and coffee truck!
Patrons consistently rave about All About That Bean’s unique boba tea menu. Try the strawberry milk tea with blueberry boba for a refreshing pick-me-up, or—for those with eclectic tastes—try the frozen cotton candy boba with yogurt!
Of course, the mobile truck also offers classics, such as an assortment of teas, lattes, frappes, and macchiatos. Whether you prefer coffee or tea—or anything else in-between—there’s something for everyone!
Perhaps one of our favorite vendors at the Bluffton Farmers Market is The Cottage Café, known for their delicious, freshly baked goods. Choose from various cakes, cheesecakes, tarts, pies, cookies, scones, breads, and more. As an added bonus, all of these selections go great with a cup of their tea!
If you miss this vendor at the farmers market, don’t worry; you can stop by their permanent shop in Historic Bluffton for breakfast, lunch, or Sunday brunch. Better yet, bring a furry friend–the café offers a fun doggy menu with tasty treats and delicious sweets that are safe for them to eat!
If you’re looking for a comforting meal, we highly recommend visiting Olivia–the “Dumpling Lady”– the next time you visit the Bluffton Farmers’ Market! These fresh, homemade dumplings are so sought-after, they usually go fast. Luckily for customers, she offers free delivery for orders placed during the market.
We can’t forget to mention our favorite snack vendor at the market: Palmetto Kettle Corn! Besides their traditional sweet and salty kettle corn and classic buttered popcorn, you can also pick up a bag of white cheddar or caramel popcorn.
If you’re feeling adventurous, we recommend trying out one of Palmetto Kettle Corn’s unique flavors, like the cheddar and caramel “Chicago” blend or the sweet and spicy “Sweet Heat” mix!
For artisanal, freshly baked bread, check out Sprout Momma! This vendor specializes in custom creations, so you can order loaves with a unique flavor profile using a wheat, rye, or white bread base. You can even customize the shape!
If you’d rather go with something familiar, you can’t go wrong with any of these flavor favorites:
Beyond standard loaves, you can also purchase various other baked goods: cakes, croissants, quiche, cinnamon buns, and more. Check out their physical location for farm-to-table goodies, such as the rotisserie chicken sandwich, falafel wrap, or their classic Momma’s Club! We highly recommend this vendor for their vegan selections as well.
