The charming coastal community of Bluffton is quite possibly the quintessential small southern town in South Carolina. Okay, make that small-ish. Bluffton has grown exponentially since the last census was taken, seeing approximately a +76% uptick in population from 2010-2018, according to U.S. Census reports. With that kind of growth, the question begs to be asked: Why in the world are so many people moving to Bluffton? We’re glad you asked!

 

Strategically situated in the heart of the Lowcountry between Hilton Head Island and I-95, the township aptly named Bluffton was originally founded as a riverfront retreat upon the high banks overlooking the beautiful May River. Today, visitors and locals alike continue to be charmed by the history-laden architecture located on streets lined with ancient oaks draped in Spanish moss.
